Hear children’s authors/illustrators speak and get your books signed this Saturday, Oct. 13.
The RI Festival of Children’s Books and Authors is from 9 am-5:30 pm at Lincoln School on Saturday October 13, 2018. The event is open to the public and costs $5 at the door.
Kick-off event on Friday evening
The event kicks off on Friday evening at 6 pm with the Providence Premiere of Charlie Bumpers vs.the Really Nice Gnome, which is appropriate for children of all ages There will be a Q&A with actors and author Bill Harley after the play. Cost is $10 per person and you can get tickets here.
Each author and illustrator gives a 30-minute presentation on their work, life, and philosophy.The Festival has a great selection of their books for you to purchase, including new releases. You may bring up to three books to be signed. Only books by this year’s authors and illustrators may be brought into the festival. Between talks, you can participate in bookmaking crafts.
Tim Jones, creator of the popular comic strip, ‘Sour Grapes’ will be teaching a cartooning workshop at 1 pm, for ages 10-14.
