Build-it Table @ Ballard Park

Stop in to the Audubon Environmental Education Center on weekends this summer for our Build-it Table! Various recycled materials will be available to build with—design a cardboard race car, create a water bottle castle, construct a bubble wrap jet pack… your imagination is the limit! No registration needed.

FROSTY DREW SUMMER ESTUARY ADVENTURES @ Frosty Drew Nature Center

Explore the shore of RI’s largest coastal salt pond, Ninigret Pond, and the surrounding shrublands with Frosty Drew naturalists. Then discover what lies beneath! Our naturalists gather specimens from the salt pond using a 40-foot seine net and show participants how to get up close and personal with marine life! Estuary Adventures is available now through August 31, 2017. Field trips are 2.5 hours in length. The fee is $9 per person, minimum of 10 people.

The event occurs daily, every weekday.

The tour stops include the Rhode Island Charter Museum, which features the Royal Charter of 1663 and other historical documents and artifacts; the State Room, where Gilbert Stuart’s famous portrait of George Washington hangs; and the Rotunda, where you can gaze upward at one of the world’s largest self-supported marble domes. Be sure to visit the Visitor’s Center gift shop for Rhode Island produced books, postcards, and other unique gifts and mementoes.

Tours are available during school vacation weeks as a fun and educational family activity.
